Amy Winehouse’s parents have taped a segment for a documentary pleading for her daughter to stop drinking. Journalist Daphne Barak created the documentary on Amy, who is now living full-time in St. Lucia.
In an interview, Amy’s mom Janis says of her daughter: “The need to rescue her is enormous. I just want her to be okay and I would do whatever it took to make that right. Amy is in denial all the time. She probably feels trapped, the body is trapping her.
"But I know with addictions you do not have the choice because the substance abuse itself directs you. I want to say to her – ‘Amy what are you doing? Don’t you know what you’re doing?’"
Her father Mitch said in his segment, “I need my daughter to be a whole person again. I tried it all – I said: ‘Amy you’ve got to do this, you’ve got to go to this doctor, you’ve got to do this, you’ve got to do that, you’re killing me, you’re killing your mum.
"For the last six months there has been a remarkable recovery, which is good, with slight backward steps – not drug backward steps, more drink backward steps if you follow my drift.”
It’s sad because Amy has just replaced her drug habit with booze. She’s obviously not healing in St. Lucia. Only a real rehab facility could get Amy back on her feet, but sadly we don’t see that happening any time soon for her!

well. a long time ago I heard Amy saying that without voice she was nothing. Well... we're not far from the truth, although it's not the end. Amy's behaviour and mind changed in the last year, she became selfish, she destroyss her life by cutting herself and drinking, buuuuut we could never forget the talent she was. This make me think... Should we talk on the pass, or give a chance to this great musician? And make her see that her life is not finished? I am a huge fan and so I support her to say YES to rehab, and left stage for a journey. LOVE yaaa AMY
